Femme au bain is a pastel by the French painter Edgar Degas, painted in 1883 and now in the Musée d'Orsay in Paris. It is an exceptional testimony to the curiosity that led Degas to try out various possibilities in the artistic techniques he used. The work is the subject of lively debate among the various critics: many of them tend to recognise Femme au bain as a monotype reworked in pastel, while others are more inclined to include it in Degas's vast corpus of pastels executed on paper.
