Boucher François
François Boucher (1703-1770) was a french artist of the Rococo period.
He was inspired by artists such as Peter Paul Rubens and Antoine Watteau and is known for his idyllic, voluptuous style of painting which he applied to portray classical scenes, decoratiive allegories and pastoral scenes. He painted many portraits of his great patron Madame de Pomapdour, a member of the French royal court and the official mistress of Louis XV. He was also a great draughstman and designed the sets and costumes for the operas of Charles Simon Favart.
