Henry Brokman

Henry Brokman (1868-1933) was a Danish painter. After completing his studies at the Danish Royal Academy of Arts, his early paintings explored a symbolist style that was common in Northern art at the time. After travelling to Paris  he discovered the ‘plein air’ techniques of the Impressionists which profoundly influenced his style, and he which he continued to develop through travels in Italy, Egypt and Syria. A great number of his works currently reside in the collection of Paris’ Musée du Petit Palais.
