Gustave Caillebotte

Gustave Caillebotte ( 1848-1894) was a French nineteenth century painter, associated with the Impressionist group. Caillebotte’s painting can be linked to the Impressionists primarily through his subjects, as similarly to his Impressionist contemporaries he was concerned with the modern everyday life as he experienced it in Paris. His brushstrokes and technique remained more precise and in line with realism rather than aligning entirely with the Impressionist movement.
