Early Sunday Morning is an oil painting on canvas measuring 89.4 × 153 cm, an elongated format depicting the façade of a single-storey building. The façade dominates the horizon. The first floor consists of a dozen identical windows, and the wall is in shades of brick red. The ground floor is made up of empty, closed shops, the colour of which is predominantly green. In the foreground is a small section of road and pavement. We can also see a fire hydrant and a fairly bright sign.
