Amedeo Modigliani artprints
Amedeo Modigliani was born in Livorno (Italy) on 12 July 1884.
Modigliano is most known for his unique and flamboyant, highly recognisable style of figurative painting. After studying painting in Florence, the artist arrived in Paris in 1906, brimming with creativity and eager to leave his mark on the history of art. Inspired by African and Cambodian art, Modigliani initially embarked on the avant-garde as a sculptor, but it was his sublime and unmistakable paintings that helped him make his name. This illustrious artist differed from others of his time thanks to his use, not of reality, but of the purity of line as the artistic framework for his figurative paintings.
Amedeo Modigliani died in Paris on 24 January 1920.
