Madame Adélaïde de France (1732-1800) faisant des noeuds

Madame Adélaïde de France is a portrait by the French painter Jean-Marc Nattier, painted in 1765, which can be seen at the Château de Versailles in France. The work is a rococo portrait of Marie Adélaïde de France, daughter of the French king Louis XV and his wife Maria Leszczynska. The painter, ruined at the end of his career, specialised in portraits of the ladies of the French court. In 1776, he once again depicted Adelaide dressed as Diana, the Roman goddess of the hunt, in a work now in the Uffizi Gallery in [...]
