The Battle of Bouvines, 27 July 1214 is a painting by Horace Vernet, painted in 1827. It is one of the works in the Battle Gallery at the Château de Versailles in France.
The Battle of Bouvines is an oil on canvas, 5.10 m high and 9.58 m long. It depicts a scene from the Battle of Bouvines in 1214. More specifically, the painting shows King Philippe Auguste in front of his army and putting his crown back into play before the battle, but the crown fell to the ground.
The painting is located in the Battle Gallery at the Château de Versailles. As the paintings in the gallery are arranged in chronological order, it is placed between those depicting Eudes defending Paris (885) and the Battle of Taillebourg (1242).
