The Pipe Smoker, or Man with a Pipe, is an oil on canvas by the French painter Paul Cézanne in the Hermitage Museum in Saint Petersburg. It measures 92.5 × 73.5 cm and dates from 1891.
The subject of the painting is a peasant smoking a pipe. This strong, young man (Paulin Paulet) is one of the Cézanne family's peasants at their Jas de Jouffan estate, which they bought in 1859. The scene takes place in the kitchen at Jas de Bouffan. Paulin Paulet, dressed in grey-blue, is leaning his elbow on the kitchen table, on which we can see a small still life of a bottle of wine and some apples.
