Martinus Rorbye, is a danish painter born in 1803 in Drammen, Norway and who died in 1848 in Copenhagen, Denmark. Martinus Rorbye belonged to the romanticism art style. He mainly worked during the classical period in the 19 century.

Martinus Rorbye : his life as an artist

Martinus Rorbye began his artist training in Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts, Copenhagen, Denmark. Then Martinus Rorbye continue his training and study with Christian August Lorentzen, Christoffer Wilhelm Eckersberg. Among his students and apprentices, we noted that he taught Lorenz Frølich.
