Bacchus and Ariane
Bacchus and Ariadne is a Renaissance painting by Titian dated 1523. It is part of a cycle of paintings on mythological subjects commissioned by Alfonso I d'Este, Duke of Ferrara, for a room in his palazzo in Ferrara.

Bacchus leaps into the air towards the frightened Ariadne, intending to take her with him and make her his wife. In the sky above Ariadne, we see the crown that Bacchus has just thrown down, which has become the constellation of the northern crown.
