Georges Seurat canvas prints & artprints
Georges Seurat was born on December 2, 1859 in Paris. Seurat discovered Impressionism during his training at the Ecole des Beaux-Arts in Paris. He was quickly struck by the lack of respect for real colours in landscapes. He thus decided to abandon the romantic dimension of Impressionism for a pictorial foundation based on precise scientific laws. He developed a very particular technique in the form of pointillism. His works, whether seascapes or landscapes, reveal, thanks to his brand-new technique, a peaceful atmosphere with colours that are faithful to reality. Seurat revolutionised the history of painting and inspired many artists of the time. He died on March 29, 1891 in Paris of an infectious disease.
