Created in 2004, Muzéo has put art at the service of design and has invented its business by realizing that on the walls of hotels, there was not much interesting. Muzéo is specialized in the creation, sourcing, and scenography of artistic contents as well as in their fabrication and installation to contribute to the decoration of all types of spaces. Muzéo accompanies the greatest decorators (Philippe Starck, Jacques Garcia, Didier Gomez, Jean-Philippe Nuel...) and many foreign design firms (Winch design, Wilson & associates, Conran & Partners, YOO Design...) in their realizations and intervenes today with the greatest hotel chains in the world (Accor, Marriott, Hilton, Four Seasons, Hyatt, Mama Shelter, Groupe Barrière...) in more than twenty countries. The company also assists many luxury brands in retail and large companies (L'Oréal, Free, SFR, Altaréa-Cogédim, Danone, Banque de France...) to help them integrate artistic content into their work spaces.

Muzéo has also obtained since 2016 the EPV label (entreprise du patrimoine vivant), which distinguishes French companies with excellent craftsmanship. Our craftsmen, graduates of the Boulle and La Bonne Graine schools, are attached to the know-how and quality of an art craft, and make reproductions and frames with great meticulousness and mastery of manufacturing techniques for a finish identical to that which you will find in an art gallery.

In 2015, the website Muzéo.com is launched by making the following simple observation: we had access to sources of images, we had a production and framing workshop and we said why not offer this expertise to the general public?

Muzéo defends the use value of the artwork, not the heritage value.

We wish to make the use accessible to the greatest number, what allows today the digital technologies, with a research of exceptional finish to get closer to the original, even if the pigment is put by a tracer and not by the point of the brush of a painter.

Recognized reference for the reproduction of paintings, Muzéo also offers prints of art photos of high professional quality, prints of posters, drawings, illustrations and collections of decorative objects inspired by its many design projects brought to major accounts.

Muzéo works with image banks, photo agencies, museums, foundations and artists to reveal to the general public treasures of our cultural heritage and the work of more contemporary artists. The low definition files are relatively accessible on the Internet, but we work with ultra high definition files which are necessary to us and are the object of a digitization work which has a cost and which we remunerate.

 

Our institutional partners : 

  • The Réunion des Musées Nationaux (RMN): This public institution is in charge of 34 national museums (Louvre Museum, Orsay Museum, Grand Palais etc...) and has several missions, the main one of which remains the dissemination of museum collections to the general public. The RMN thus offers us access to more than 800,000 photographs of works of art from the finest national and regional museums
  • The Bibliothèque Nationale de France (BNF): Heir to the royal collections and the most important library in France, it contains approximately 40 million printed and specialized documents. By opening its archives, notably through Gallica, it allows the consultation of more than 2.6 million documents.
  • The Society of Authors in the Graphic and Plastic Arts (ADAGP): Founded in 1953 on the initiative of artists, it specializes in the management of private rights in the field of visual arts.

  • Getty images : Specialized in photography, we offer the Hulton archives or the American photographer Slim aarons.
  • Bridgeman : More generalist agency, offers us photographic collections from England and Italy but also access to the works of many international museums.
  • Gamma-Rapho : Specialized in photography, it gives us access to a unique collection of photo-reportage and humanist photography from the belle époque to the present day

For each sale, Muzéo gives a defined percentage to its partners. The rights of authors and reproduction are included in our selling prices. Our company guarantees that the exploitation of the entirety of these funds of images is done in all transparency, in the respect of the rights of reproduction and the royalties. The rights negotiated with the artists or the entitled persons are strictly defined and limited to a right of private use. All rights of representation and reproduction are therefore entirely excluded.

For the works which are in the public domain (70 years after the death of the artist in general, which is thus the case for the majority of the large paintings), we do not buy the patrimonial rights but the cost of the digitalization which was carried out.

We refuse to make reproductions from your personal photos because we only make reproductions of artworks, and only from scans made by professionals who meet strict quality specifications (ultra high definition, quality of shooting and post-production...).

You can contact us to ask us to search for a specific work for you that is not published in our catalog. We will do our best to meet your expectations.

We guarantee a faithful reproduction of the visual you have chosen as well as your options. If, unfortunately, this reproduction does not suit you, you can make an exchange or be refunded within 15 days after delivery of the package by our carrier. Respect of the original image, quality of printing and color fidelity are the promises of a Muzeo art print: each order is processed by a graphic designer before being launched in production.

We do not sell original artworks and our paintings are not hand painted copies but ultra high definition pigment inkjet prints made on the medium of your choice.

Our reproductions of paintings have an irreproachable quality of completion to approach the best of the original. We use canvas like a painter, the final image is varnished by hand ... The only difference? The pigment is applied by a tracer and not by the tip of a painter's brush. You have to be a professional and know where to look to see the difference. The ultra high definition digital printing and the application of varnish gives the impression of an original work. We do not have the right to make a reproduction of the same size as the original, for fear that it could be taken for a counterfeit!

  • A pigment inkjet print is applied to a soft 100% cotton canvas.
  • A protective acrylic varnish is then manually applied to fix the pigments with brilliance and give the oily texture of a hand painted canvas.
  • The canvas is then mounted on a 2 cm thick wooden frame, stapled to the back of the frame.
  • We then attach nails dots to the edges which are left blank, without printing.

If you want a hand-stretched canvas without varnish, or without nails, or with printed edges, you just have to finalize your order and contact us immediately by reminding us your order number and give us your preferences.

Please note that if you choose to have your painting framed, we will not apply nails to the canvas.

Our art reproductions are made in our 2000 m2 workshops in Montrouge. Our craftsmen, graduates of the Boulle and La Bonne Graine schools, attached to the know-how and quality of an art craft, make reproductions and frames with great care and mastery of manufacturing techniques for a finish identical to that which you will find in an art gallery.

Muzéo has also obtained since 2016 the EPV label (living heritage company), which distinguishes French companies with excellent craft skills.

We offer two options for the reproduction of paintings: hand-stretched canvas or art paper.

 

In the case of paintings originally done in oil or acrylic

If you want to give the illusion of an original work, you should opt for hand-stretched canvas,  because it is manually applied a protective acrylic varnish that gives the oily texture of a painted picture.

Otherwise, fine art paper will give a very qualitative rendering, with a more matte finish that does not try to imitate a painting.

In the case of watercolors, we recommend fine art paper because an original watercolor is usually done on a thick grain paper.

For some works, the laminated on aluminum (with or without Plexiglas) is available. This one is advised if you wish a very contemporary treatment of your reproduction and especially to emphasize the colors and the contrasts for a strong immersive effect of the visual.

We offer 3 possible options with your hand-stretched canvas:

  • The White Edges: The painting is mounted without nails stitch on white edges for a contemporary and sober look.
  • The white edges with nails: The edges are left white and nails are applied around the edges for a more authentic look.
  • Printed Edges: the edges of the image are printed with the mirror pattern (mirror edge) in continuous chroma, without the application of seed points.

You can ask the customer service for a sample of canvas, photo art paper.

No, we do not sell reproductions already made and we do not have any stock. Each piece is unique and made to measure, the manufacturing is launched at the request of the customer.

You can order a reproduction without a frame and ask us to do the framing later, but the return of your initial order to our workshop will be at your expense (unless you deposit it in our workshop). It will be necessary to contact us beforehand by communicating us your initial order number and the desired frame to obtain a personalized estimate. We will start the manufacturing of the frame once we receive your payment and your reproduction.

If you choose a frame with your art paper or photo print, a plexiglass window will protect your reproduction. Fasteners will also be placed on the back of the frame for a "turnkey" hanging. The art paper / photo print will be packaged in a roll under silk paper if you do not choose a frame.

Do you want to make your reproduction in a special format? No problem. To do this, simply send an email to our customer service who will establish a quote according to the desired dimensions.

Please note that we do not accept returns and do not refund orders for custom sizes.

We refuse to make reproductions from your personal photos because we only make reproductions of artworks, and only from scans made by professionals who meet strict quality specifications (ultra high definition, quality of shooting and post-production...).

A mount is a rigid cardboard in which an opening of the surface of the work is cut in bevel and which is placed over the reproduced work.

Muzéo offers you the possibility to apply a mount for reproductions on art paper or photo paper.

There is no rule to tell you if you should add a mount or not, but you can make your choice based on the following advantages that it brings to your reproduction:

  • the mount is functional: it protects your image by isolating it from direct contact with the glass.
  • the mount is aesthetic: it enhances and emphasizes the work by directing the eye towards it
  • the mount gives an enlarged effect to your reproduction and brings a certain breath to the work which is less confined in a too narrow frame

We invariably apply a width of 5 cm on each side of the reproduction when you activate this option but you can contact us for any specific request.

Unfortunately, we do not have a showroom. Our production site does not welcome visitors for the moment.

Hand-Stretched Canvas

The clean texture of hand-stretched canvas is suitable for reproduction of paintings, classic or contemporary. The high definition digital print and final varnish gives the illusion of an original work.

Pigment inkjet printing on a 100% cotton canvas with a soft, textured matte finish and a natural white weave. Canvas varnished with an acrylic structure gel and stapled on a wooden frame.

FINE ART PAPER

This etch grain paper is suitable for printmaking, etching, illustration, watercolor and drawing reproduction. The texture and paper quality ensure a high fidelity to the original drawing.

Pigment inkjet printing on 240g matte-look, fine-grain art paper with texture, 100% cotton, natural white.

SILVER PHOTO PAPER

ALUMINUM PRINTING

Direct printing on aluminum is mainly suitable for photography. The color is directly applied on a composite aluminum plate, and then hardened under a UV lamp. Water resistant, this medium has the advantage of being able to be hung both indoors and outdoors. It gives a matte, slightly satin effet.

LAMINATED ON ALUMINUM

Suitable mainly for photography, this support is very popular with art galleries. It has a contemporary and elegant finish with a glossy finish. The composite aluminum plate fixed on a frame allows to consolidate the structure and to move it away from the wall when hanging.

LAMINATED ON ALUMINUM WITH PLEXIGLASS

This technique, also appropriate for photography, is used by art galleries. It follows the same process as for the laminated on aluminum, with the same lightness of frame, but the print is here covered with plexi, which ensures an optimal protection of the work and a real development of the colors and the contrasts.

The print is protected by a 2mm thick plexiglass.

PRINTING ON PLEXI

The smallest side of the reproduction can take the following dimensions:

  • 13 cm (only available for art paper)
  • 30 cm (only available for art paper and canvas on stretcher)
  • 60 cm
  • 90 cm
  • 110 cm (only available for aluminium laminates)

The longest side of the reproduction is calculated according to the homothety of the original work.

If these standard formats do not suit you, we can however realize any format to measure. Contact us to get a quote according to the desired dimensions.

The dimensions of the reproductions displayed on the site do not take into account the framing options. The size that takes into account the framing is called the overall size. The size to add depends on the type of frame chosen. You must add twice the width of the frame on each side to obtain the overall size (see list of frame sizes below)

When you choose a passe-partout, you must keep in mind that this option invariably adds 9 cm on each side of your reproduction.

Muzeo products do not require any particular maintenance. However, it is necessary to avoid overexposure to light in order not to fade the colors and to humidity in order not to deform the frames.

The Muzeo wallpaper is a canvas that marbles like an ordinary wallpaper, printed in a single width for a spectacular effect. Resistant and easy to apply, this support usually reserved for professionals is finally within the reach of all.

In order to facilitate the installation, Muzeo offers you the appropriate glue in the necessary quantity.

Enter the dimensions of your wall in the boxes provided, choose your cropping and we will create your custom wallpaper. If your wall is more than 3 meters high, please contact our customer service.

Our cushions are 100% polyester, OEKO-TEX® certified.

Our cushions are not made by our workshops but by a partner. Our delays are therefore 20 days.

We offer two choices of structures: free-standing or suspended.

The stand, electrical system and bulb are not included with your shade.

If you are an inhabitant of France, or an inhabitant of the European Union, you are subject to VAT at 20%. Only non-EU residents or companies are exempt from VAT, as well as companies that are part of the EU. For the latter, you will have to provide an intra-community VAT number.

If you are resident outside the EU, you will have to pay any customs fees.

You will find your invoice in the order confirmation email that is sent to the email address provided at the time of purchase. If you can't find this email, consider checking your spam (junk mail). You can also find your invoice at any time in printable PDF format in "my account", in the "my orders" section.

Unfortunately, we cannot make any changes to an order that has been placed, but if you contact us immediately, it is possible to cancel it before the package is shipped. After cancelling your order, you can go back to our online store and place a new order with the desired products in order to avoid a double order.

To find out if your order is being manufactured or has left our workshops, check the emails you have received from us. We send you an email at each stage of your order to let you know its status when we start manufacturing, when we prepare your package and finally when your order is shipped. Also check your spam (junk mail), this type of email can sometimes be sent there. The sender address is: [email protected]

You can also view the real-time status of your order your customer area on the site Muzéo.com. To do so:

  • Go to the tab "My account" at the top right of the site
  • Log in with your customer ID
  • Click on "My orders" and then on the order for which you want to get the information

Your order appears in "payment error" on our site. This means that your order has not been registered and you have not been charged.

This is due to a problem with the payment method you use to pay for your order.

  • the card numbers have been entered incorrectly
  • the validity of the card has expired
  • A payment limit has been reached on your account
  • The code received by your bank has expired
  • your bank refuses or suspects a fraudulent payment

Unfortunately, we can only invite you to try another payment method, or another bank card, or contact your bank to see what is blocking it.

The means of payment which are proposed to you to regulate your order are the following ones:

For payments by wire transfer, you have 15 days to validate the transfer from the date of your order. If we do not receive your payment within this period, the order will be automatically cancelled.

IIt is possible that in some cases the configuration options normally located on the right side of the work no longer work and are no longer displayed. You can not customize the reproduction (with the support, size, framing and desired options ...).

Your e-gift card comes in the form of an advantage code worth X euros which is applied to the total amount of your order, excluding delivery costs.

Indicate and apply the promotional code to your shopping basket displayed in the first step of the checkout process and complete with a payment method of your choice from those available.

Your e-gift card is valid for all purchases on muzeo.com for one year from the date of issue. It cannot be used after its expiry date and will not be replaced in this case.

The e-gift card cannot be exchanged, resold, reimbursed, even partially, or credited to another e-gift card.

Don't worry your order will arrive without the invoice. Invoices are never actually sent in packages, they can be downloaded from our website. The one for your order was sent to you as an attachment to your order confirmation email.

If you wish to have your order delivered to an address other than your home address, simply separate your billing and delivery addresses. You can also register several different delivery addresses on your customer account.

At step 2 of the shopping cart, on the delivery address page, you just have to deselect your default home address in the first field by clicking on 'choose address' in the drop-down menu. In the next field, fill in a description / name for this new address and fill in the following fields (contact name, address, specify building, floor or digicode number, postal code, city)

Under the address form, uncheck "Same as billing address" and then re-enter your complete personal billing information.

At step 2 of the shopping cart, uncheck the following option:

A second address form will appear, you will only have to enter your billing address.

If you have a Muzéo promotional code, you will have to enter it at the bottom of your cart summary page, before validating your order, in the "Coupon" input field. Once the code is entered, click on the "Add Coupon" button and the promotion will be directly applied to your cart amount. The discount codes cannot be combined with other promotional discounts (they cannot be used for example during sales periods). No discount is possible and applicable after order confirmation. Only one use of the same promotional code is possible per user account.

Sometimes this message is routed to your "junk mail" / "spam" folder. Please check this folder! If this is not the case, do not hesitate to contact us to ask for the discount before finalizing your order. No discount will be possible and applicable after confirmation of the order.

Subscribers to our newsletter can benefit from a discount giving a 5% discount on the total price of their order. Our newsletter subscribers also receive special offers.

If you are not a newsletter subscriber, you have access to our stockpile, which lists unsold items in perfect condition with a 30% discount on their selling price. However, we do not have any sales or promotions on the site.

The shipping costs are calculated in agreement with our carrier Geodis. They depend on your delivery address and the weight of your package for France. For international shipments, the volume of your package is taken into account. Here is an indicative grid for our main products:

Muzéo has created a dedicated packaging to pack and protect your art print, protected by corners and bubble wrap before packing. The bubble wrap packaging of Muzeo products has been specially designed to be used as gift wrap.

Note that the prints on photo paper or art paper without framing are packaged in flat envelope for small formats and rolled in tube for larger formats.

We propose a service of express delivery at home in 2 days to which it is necessary to add the time of manufacture that here:

  • art reproduction : 4 days
  • wallpaper : 7 days
  • lampshade : 15 days

Muzéo has chosen to work with a major player in logistics to offer you an optimal express service: Geodis France Express.

We notify you by email when your order is being packed in our workshops, which indicates that shipment is imminent (scheduled for the same day or the next day).

You are then notified by SMS and email by our carrier Geodis France Express as soon as they take charge of the package. You will find your tracking number. Click in the notification to choose the desired half-day for the passage of the deliveryman on a range of 14 days (Saturday morning possible). A delivery in the morning will be made in the time slot 9am - 1pm, and in the afternoon in the time slot 1pm - 5pm.

Remember to check your spam if you do not find this email (The sender address is [email protected] and the subject of the message includes the mention "Your next delivery").

For all deliveries within the European Union, no customs fees apply, so you will not have to pay any customs fees.

If your order is in "Delivery" or "Delivery problem" status and cannot be delivered by our carrier Geodis - France Express, you can choose :

  • Choose a new appointment with the carrier on their website by clicking here or by phone: you must then contact your local agency whose full contact details you will find by clicking here
  • Contact us directly to reorganize the delivery. This option is not recommended for a short term delivery.

The two most frequent cases of delivery failure :

  • Your delivery address is incomplete (missing door code, or building code, or your cell phone number in order to be reachable by the deliverer...). You must then send us this information.
  • You have not responded within 24 hours to the notification of the carrier asking you to choose your delivery slot, the delivery date was imposed by the carrier who passed in your absence.

The carrier usually informs you that the delivery attempt has failed and invites you to choose a new delivery appointment.

Our art reproductions are delivered with a hanging system (for canvas on stretcher, plywood on aluminum and any framed art reproduction). Our reproductions are therefore ready to be displayed!

Our products come with two hooks (one for each side of the frame).

We do not supply wall ties. We recommend small X-hooks (sold in all DIY stores). Remember that the wall material determines the type of screws/nails to use.

We have a professional installation team that intervenes to install all our products for our major clients. Depending on your address, we can have our installers come to your home. Contact us with the reference of the order concerned to confirm that we can intervene and establish you a precise estimate

For any order except wallpaper made on the site, you have 15 days to return the product in its original packaging! In case of return, you can choose to be refunded, or get a credit note.

We do not take returns on custom orders with custom sizes (such as wallpaper) or orders made outside of the site (which are estimated and handled by a customer service representative). Also, we recommend that you take the time and attention necessary to make your choice.

The package must be returned with a tracking number and in its original packaging, including the protective elements around the frame. Remember to keep your receipt and tracking information until you receive confirmation that we have received your return.

Please note that we are not normally obliged to take back or exchange our products in accordance with article L121-21-8 of the Consumer Code:

"The right of withdrawal can not be exercised, for contracts: (...) 3° Of supply of goods made to the specifications of the consumer or clearly personalized ... ".

For a return from Switzerland and Great Britain, the shipping costs are fully at your expense.

A quick and easy process! Just contact our customer service and they will send you a UPS return slip to stick on the package. The return is totally free (except Switzerland). You do not have to pay anything.
